Vineyard description:

Giusep is a short distance downslope from the Pe Mol site, but on the other side of the ridge summit. It has less sand in the soil than at the summit of the ridge and makes a fragrant yet structured Barbera.

Soil: Clay, with good permeable soil.

Exposure: West

Density: Plants per hectare: 5000

Average Age of vines: 14 years (2010)

Training: Guyot basso

Altitude: 450m

Yields: 50 hl/ha

Area: 0.5 ha

Hills of the Langhe

LangheThe Langhe is named after the long and sinuous hills that define its geography, which resemble tongues or “lingua” in the local dialect. The word evolved into “Langhe” over the last few centuries.
